Eero Kustaa Haapanen is an architect based in Tampere, Finland. Originally from Nurmo in Southern Ostrobothnia, he draws inspiration from the wide horizons and clear structures of the Finnish landscape. His approach to architecture is guided by a deep respect for the place and the planet.
Eero holds a degree from the Oulu School of Architecture, where he shaped his understanding of clarity, proportion, and the honest use of materials. These principles continue to guide his architectural expression, combining Nordic restraint with a contemporary sensitivity to context and detail.
Eero’s design process is based on collaboration. Each project evolves through open dialogue with clients, engineers, and builders, ensuring that the result reflects a shared vision and practical insight. He views architecture as both an intellectual and a hands-on discipline where ideas are refined through experimentation and craftsmanship.
With his versatile background in architecture and urban planning, Eero works across a wide range of projects, from small-scale buildings to large public spaces. Since 2019, he has gained work experience in renovation design, building design and urban planning, allowing him to approach complex project environments with both technical and strategic understanding. His aim is to create architecture that responds to its surroundings, serves everyday life, and stands the test of time.
